Flu vaccination
As soon as the last warm autumn days arrive, health-conscious people should be thinking about their annual flu vaccination. As a preventive measure, the vaccination is free of charge for all FMG employees.
Flu vaccination
The only protection against a genuine flu infection, a serious illness from which it takes weeks to recover, is to obtain a vaccination in time.
As in previous years, this fall FMG's health management team is once again offering free flu vaccinations for all FMG employees in cooperation with AOK, the regional public-sector health insurer, and under the leadership of the doctors at our medical center, MediCare. As always, the exact dates and times will be posted on bulletin boards and announced on the FMG Intranet.

Prevention through vaccination
Vaccination is one of the most effective preventive measures known to medicine. A vaccination imitates a natural infection. It stimulates the production of antibodies and so-called memory cells by our immune system. After a vaccination our immune system takes about 14 days to develop full protection.
A flu vaccination naturally protects us only against a genuine flu virus (influenza), and not against colds. The flu can be avoided only through preventive measures - by obtaining a vaccination in time. The flu vaccination is quick and easy, and has few if any after-effects.
Remember: A vaccination also provides protection for people around you. Those who don't get infected cannot pass the virus on to others.
