Federal Police
Logo der Bundespolizei
Rising passenger figures, the construction of satellite and the airport’s role as an international hub serving 235 destinations: These are the aspects setting the parameters for the nearly 1000-strong Federal Police at Munich Airport.

Broadly defined mission
The three Federal Police stations ( I–III) with a total of 15 service groups perform the tasks of border police, aviation security and railway police. Their mission includes the screening of annually about 12 million travelers at Germany's second-largest airport, issuing approximately 3000 identity papers as temporary passport substitutes, patroling 43 kilometers of fence and monitoring a total area of 1,500 hectares.

Rounding off the personnel are document specialists, explosive tracking dogs and a separate bomb defusing squad. To perform its tasks the Federal Police cooperates with the other security authorities at the airport, the airport operating company and the airlines.

Terminal 2 Service Point
At the Service Point travelers can obtain temporary replacement identification and enquire about passport and visa regulations for any country in the world.

The Service Point is in Terminal 2 (Level 04), Room 4479 (public area).

Opening hours: Every day from 5:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Information hotline
Travelers and vacationers can call the information hotline with enquiries on the necessary formalities for crossing borders and in particular the passport and visa regulations of individual countries.

Information is available around the clock at +49 (0)89 / 9 73 07 - 98 88.
