The training contents are based on the ordinance regulating civil service careers in firefighting services, on the ordinance on accreditation, training and examinations for firefighters, and the training syllabus for firefighting services. For general firefighting services, the Chamber of Trade and Industry examination for fire protection specialists is also recognized.
Training takes a total of two years, consisting of the six-month basic training period and special training for airport-specific concerns (e.g. aircraft and special buildings, tactical instruction for aircraft fire protection, operation and mastery of airport firefighting vehicles with a multi-phase approach to potential hazards, rescue of passengers and crew in case of aircraft accidents).
