  2. Can I stay overnight at the airport if my flight departs early the next morning? Yes, provided that you have a valid plane ticket with you.

  3. Why is smoking generally banned at Munich Airport? The strictest smoking ban in Germany is in force in Bavaria, despite massive protests. Failure to comply will result in fines for smokers and restaurant owners that can range from 5 euros to 1,000 euros.

For the restaurants at the airport, the goal is to deal with this issue in the most liberal way possible, but the law is the law. As a result, effective immediately, smoking is permitted only outdoors, which means outside the entrances and in the outdoor area of the Munich Airport Center. Ashtrays are available at those locations

  4. Which credit cards can I use at Munich Airport? The shops at Munich Airport accept all major credit cards.

  5. Can I shop duty free when I arrive in Munich? No. Duty free goods can be sold only to passengers departing on international flights (i.e. to non-EU countries) from Munich or transferring to international flights.

  6. Is there a conference center at the airport? Yes, the “municon” conference center is available in the Munich Airport Center (located in the MAC, northern section, Level 08). For information and reservations, call + +49 89/975-9 32 00 or check the municon website:

    +49 171 3 72 71 79

The porter service cannot be contacted by e-mail.

  10. What services do the porters provide? If you need someone to carry your luggage to the check-in desk or from the arrivals area to your car, the porters will be glad to help.

They'll also be happy to wrap your cases or backpack in plastic to prevent damage during your journey.

  11. I've missed my flight. What can I do? If your ticket can be rebooked, contact your travel agent or the airline.

They can issue a new ticket. Depending on your fare class and the airline, the rebooking may be subject to a fee.

  12. Are there prayer rooms at the airport? Yes! A church is located on Level 04 of the Munich Airport Center. Go up the stairs near the escalators leading down to the S-Bahn trains.

A prayer room for Muslims is located in Terminal 1, Departure Area C, Level 05.

In Terminal 2 there is a room for quiet reflection on Level 05 of the non-public area.
