The Airport Beach Season at the Munich Airport Center (MAC) is now firmly established as a highlight on the calendar of elite volleyball tournaments. There will be thrills aplenty for fans of this fast and furious sport when the MAC Forum is turned into a beach arena for the third straight year to host the Airport Beach Season 2008 from August 1 to 17, 2008. This event, staged under the motto “Rio on Tour,” features professionals and amateurs digging, volleying and smashing on three courts. And the 750 tons of fine sand piled up in the MAC Forum will definitely have the players, airport visitors and passengers thinking of faraway beaches.

From August 1-3, the volleyball professionals from the "smart beach tour" will be strutting their stuff. In the company tournament from August 4 until August 9, 80 amateur teams will compete for the B2Beach Cup. Companies with teams that have what it takes can register for the tournament effective immediately at +49 (0)89/975-34322. On Family Day (August 10), players from the “Rote Raben”, the reigning champions of the German women's volleyball league – will be on hand to teach visitors young and old some of the finer points of the art of volleyball. To close out the Airport Beach Season, the top volleyball teams in the state of Bavaria will go head to head in a three-day tournament for the state championship from August 15–17.
