Munich Airport is the best airport in Europe: That's the verdict in the latest edition of the international affairs and travel magazine Monocle. In the special insert "The Monocle Travel Top Fifty 2009/10" the globetrotting authors of the prestigious London-based magazine report on their experiences with airlines, airports, hotels and other travel-related service providers. The results are summed up in 50 categories. Under "Best Airport in Europe", Munich emerged as the winner. Summing up the reasons for the choice, the magazine says that there's not much to dislike about Munich Airport, enthusing that "the good signage, swift security and architecture that says it's an airport rather than a mall make it a perfect gateway to Bavaria and an even better hub for connections." The Monocle team's only quibble: the slow train connection into the city centre.
