MIC III certification
Dr. Füger has been granted MIC III certification. MIC III defines the new standard for the highest level of surgical training and specialization.
Highest qualification in minimally invasive surgery (MIC)
About 80% of all gynecological operations today are endoscopic. In other words they are performed by means of laparoscopy or hysteroscopy. To achieve the best possible quality of surgical results, the Gynecological Working Group (AGE) has developed a certification model in cooperation with the European Society for Gynecological Endoscopy (ESGE).
This qualification, which is granted on a strictly individual basis, has three classifications: Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIC) I, II and III. The highest level, MIC III, covers a wide range of conditions and operation types at a high level of difficulty that arise very frequently in surgical practise (800 laparoscopic and 100 hysteroscopic procedures documented in detail within five years) in combination with extensive direct observation and training certification. So far only 37 gynecological surgeons in Germany have been granted this certification.
Dr. Füger was granted MIC III certification on September 14, 2008.
