September 9, 1999, marked not only the beginning of a new chapter for many newlyweds but also the official launch of Airbräu.
One of the key tasks for the managing duo at the time, Dr. Joost and Mr. Halamoda, was to create something that would attract passengers, airport employees, and visitors from the surrounding area. It’s clear that their concept was a success—today, Airbräu remains a popular meeting place for everyone.
A true highlight is still the world's first airport brewery, which brews its beer strictly according to the German Purity Law of 1516. In addition, the many events at Airbräu continue to delight guests.
Since its opening, Airbräu’s philosophy has remained unchanged—strong ties to Bavarian brewing and cuisine, the best entertainment from the region, and a unique atmosphere at Munich Airport.
Its guests are just as diverse as the brewery itself—open-minded, spanning all ages, and coming from all around the world.
