Airbräu, the brewery at Munich Airport, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. A week of festivities awaits visitors, chock full of anniversary offers and a varied program of music, a Ferris wheel, a wheat beer-themed event carousel and culinary highlights through September 15th, 2024.
One special highlight will be the anniversary beer and Airbräu's famous roast pork, both of which will be available at historic prices from Airbräu's opening year of 1999.
"Airbräu has been an integral part of Munich Airport for 25 years and an indispensable gathering place for guests from both around the airport and around the world. Our brewery stands for Bavarian hospitality and tradition, which we will continue to embody and maintain in the future," said Dr. Jan-Henrik Andersson, Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Security Officer.
The world's first airport brewery opened its doors on September 9th, 1999. Over the past quarter-century, more than 11.5 million liters of beer have been brewed and served, such as the "Fliegerquell” light beer and the “Kumulus” wheat beer. Airbräu's beer has been brewed using only CO2-neutral solar energy since 2022. The restaurant focuses on Bavarian specialties. A total of 2,545,875 typically Bavarian Weisswurst sausages have been sold at Airbräu in the past 25 years. Since 2020, a growing number of vegetarian and vegan dishes have also been on offer.
In 2024, Airbräu started its own online store. The wide range of products available includes beer brandy from Mountain Hub Distillers, created during the pandemic and available in the varieties "Infused", "Oaked" and "Pure": www.airbraeu.shop
